Kinesis Vehicle Tracking to Ensure Patient and Staff Care for MedEvent

Crewe, 24 February 2020 – Private ambulance company MedEvent Healthcare has equipped its fleet with Kinesis vehicle telematics to plan patient journeys and monitor real-time vehicle movements for non-emergency passenger transport across Wales.

MedEvent operates a fleet of ambulances and specially adapted vehicles working alongside the NHS to provide seamless transport services in areas such as mental health transfers, urgent GP referrals, A&E support and repatriation. MedEvent also offers a range of health courier services providing logistical support services for hospitals, clinics, surgeries and GP practices including pharmaceutical deliveries, transport of patient records, theatre supplies, specimens and pathology samples.

Using GPS technology Kinesis gives MedEvent comprehensive visibility of all its vehicles. Updated every 30 seconds and displayed against an easy to interpret map screen the live vehicle tracking helps MedEvent locate vehicles and provide real time updates, without needing to interrupt the driver or healthcare assistant. Traffic updates and live Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) calculations are also helping MedEvent communicate accurate and up-to-date information with other healthcare professionals and service operators.
